An excellent opportunity is available for an R&D Electronics Engineer with “Switch Mode Power Supply” development experience or a background with motor controls, LED displays or similar. Based in the North East of England, the role is set within a state of the art facility, with a working environment where talented engineers and scientists can thrive.
The role of the development engineer covers the full lifecycle from initial outline specification to bringing products to market. You will design and develop cost-effective and reliable circuits across a range of electronic products within an ISO9001:2000 accredited environment.
This will involve simulation of initial designs, analysis of fault conditions/protection and testing of prototype and first production units. You will oversee the creation of production bills of materials, drawings and test instructions.
In this role you will be liaising with suppliers of materials or design services, and provide technical support to Purchasing, Production and Service departments for the products. There will also be interaction between other global R&D departments with opportunity of travelling to internal international R&D departments and external customer sites.
By keeping up-to-date with the market place and technology trends, you will support R&D Technicians with technical queries. This role essentially is based around Switch Mode Power Supply design/motor controls/LED drivers, so a background in this area would be highly desirable.
