Biomedical/Clinical Scientist (or equivalent)
As part of their Automated Staining development program, Our Newcastle based client is looking to appoint a Biomedical/Clinical Scientist who is fully competent in fluorescent in-situ hybridization (FISH) techniques, and in particular clinical screening of HER2 breast pathology specimens (H&E, IHC, FISH). Additional experience in other ISH techniques utilizing break apart rearrangement and fusion probes or similar, together with an in depth knowledge of clinical histopathology and routine diagnostic immunohistochemistry would be advantageous.
Depending on experience, the candidate may also be responsible for the technical responsibilities associated with project development/management which may include overseeing clinical trial studies, liaising with external evaluation sites and interpreting regulatory and/or clinical guidelines.
Requirements:
• Experience of performing DNA targeted in situ hybridization and associated screening/reporting.
• In depth knowledge of histopathology and immunohistochemistry techniques gained within a clinical pathology laboratory.
• A Degree/MSc or equivalent professional qualification/experience in Biomedical Science/histopathology or related subject.
• Experience of using image analysis systems for quantification of clinical outcomes may be beneficial.
• Knowledge of current health care trends and treatment regimes would be beneficial.
