An excellent opportunity is available for a Senior Software Design Engineer. Based in the North East of England, the role is set within a state of the art facility, with a working environment where talented engineers and scientists can thrive.
 
Key tasks and responsibilities:
• Knowledge of hardware towards embedded systems including microcontroller, data storage and DSP
• Create and launch new SW algorithms for new features inside innovative products
• Lead inside the introduction of new communication protocols such as wireless technology
• Create detailed software specifications in alignment with hardware requirements
• Develop strategies to improve time to market, reliability and repeatability inside embedded software architecture
• Design testing procedures and conduct checks for module inherited functionalities as well as control protocols
• Provide support/assistance to technical enquiries
• Support development and maintenance of production test equipment

Qualifications and requirements:

• Degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science/Information Technologies, ideally with 3 years experience in field of embedded software design
• Solid knowledge with microcontroller based systems, profound programming skills in C, Assembler as well as LabView
• Strong conceptual mindset with self- responsible, pro-active style of working to achieve results
• Good interpersonal skills for team working, including software leadership inside project teams
• Strong communication skills & ability to interface with hardware development engineers
• Willingness to travel and represent local software team inside global workshop activities.
