An electronics design engineer with embedded software experience, is required to work for a market leading organisation. The company, which is a market leader in process diagnostic measurement services and specialist instrumentation, meets the needs of a global customer base in the Oil, Gas and Chemicals industries. This key role will see you contributing to the product development department, to help deliver the next generation of instruments. As part of a team you will be involved in all aspects of instrument design and approval, over the whole design life cycle, from concept to production.

Credible candidates will ideally be of graduate level in electronics (or equivalent), as well as expertise and experience in both analogue and digital design. Experience of certifying / designing products for use in hazardous areas (ATEX, FM, CSA) is highly desirable. You must be proficient in embedded C/C++ and experience of safety critical software would be advantageous.

Good interpersonal skills are essential - you need to communicate and develop working relationships with colleagues, customers and certification bodies, be methodical and rigorous and ensure all standards are appropriately met.

You need to be able to plan and manage projects, to meet agreed project milestones, working either on your own or as part of a small team. You will be expected to keep up to date with developments in European and International Standards, covering intrinsic safety, electrical safety and electromagnetic compatibility.
