 An exciting opportunity with a growing company developing innovative technology has arisen. Our client is seeking an Senior Formulation Chemist with vast experience in product development, application and testing.

This challenging role will involve the formulation and testing of new products for a number of industrial applications including coatings, paints, inks, adhesives and cosmetics.

Responsibilities:
• Design formulation matrices and prepare test formulations.
• Application of formulations onto a range of substrates.
• Perform a range of industry standard tests.
• Evaluate and report the findings.
• Carry out all lab duties in a safe manner, taking into account the safety of self and others.

Candidate profile:
• The successful candidate will have at least a degree in chemistry or equivalent industrial experience, preferably with a specialisation in, or knowledge of, formulation science.
• Excellent laboratory and communication skills will also be expected.
• Particular preference will be given to applicants familiar with industry standard formulation and testing of coatings, inks, or adhesives.
• The position requires ‘hands-on’ experience of preparing model formulations, preparation and testing of coatings – evaluating such properties as drying time, hardness, scratch-resistance, substrate-adhesions etc.
• Additional experience in viscosity / rheology determination would also be beneficial.
