We are looking to recruit a a Senior Forensic Scientist with a biological or chemistry specialism who has experience of a broad range of forensic techniques, scene attendance and court expert witness.This person will be expected to personally handle high level casework and to provide input to the forensic strategy of the company, whilst providing a senior liaison point with our clients police customers.They will also be responsible for overseeing technical management of direct reports and giving a significant input tothe technical direction of the department

Aspects of the role will include:

·Lead the establishment and development of the reporting capability of the organisation.

·To take a leading role in the technical management of the department.

·The overseeing and involvement in a range of development projects in line with specific responsibilities

·Ensure that high quality standards and integrity of the forensic analysis process are maintained at all times.

·To mentor and guide staff in a broad range of analysis techniques and reporting procedures

·To liaise with police officers and other authorities to establish a forensic strategy as required on a case by case basis.

·Examination of crime scene samples in accordance with the agreed forensic strategy, (this examination will incorporate a broad range of potential evidence types).

·Preparation of reports for (e.g.) police, CPS, coroner.

·Case management and coordination, to ensure the integration of evidential findings from all specialized analyses and to ensure appropriate communication with all case stake holders.

·Provide verbal and written testimony for the results reported.

·Responding to routine enquiries and urgent enquiries to a high standard.

·Maintain an up to date and complete technical knowledge of a broad range of forensic analysis processes.
