The CY Partners team are celebrating success by growing their team and I am thrilled to announce next in the spotlight is: Jack Ramshaw! Jack has joined as Science Recruitment Consultant specialising in Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals in the North. He will be working closely with the newly promoted, Head of Chemicals & Pharma Graham Hankinson and is looking to grow and develop relationships with job-seekers and scientific organisations in Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals so get in touch if you think that is you!

Jack’s Background

With a BSc in Medicinal Chemistry from Newcastle University, Jack spent time looking at the use of ligand efficiency and lipophilic efficiency in medicinal chemistry optimisation. His project revolved around using two formulas – ligand efficiency (LE) and Lipophilic efficiency (LLE) to streamline drug discovery research programs and assist in the narrowing of focus to lead compounds. After explaining it to me he added ‘the overwhelming complexity of drug discovery means that no single parameter can ever fully explain success or failure and the use of any one metric in isolation is destined to produce limited insight however there are clear and compelling advantages of using Lipophilic efficiency’. After deciding that a life talking about science rather than doing it at the bench was more his style, Jack joined Chemviron, a company that manufactures and sells activated carbon cloth, used in filters, facemasks, protective clothing. He still loves talking about science so contact him to share your scientific interests and career aspirations!

Jack also enjoys hobbies like football, cricket, walks and going to the cinema.
