The Company

My client is a well-funded, consumer-focused healthcare company with global ambitions, founded by an experienced team of industry veterans, entrepreneurs, and scientists. They have ground-breaking technology that truly empowers the consumer which will look to bring healthcare into the home and combine cutting edge technology with a consumer faced approach. Due to continued expansion, they are looking to hire an Assay Development Scientist to help with data analysis and interpretation.

The Role

The role of Assay Development Scientist will be focussed on designing and optimising qPCR assay panels, developing the diagnostic platform and data analysis interpretation.

Specific Responsibilities of the Assay Development Scientist will include:

• Understanding and designing qPCR primers and qPCR probes for human SNPs and infectious disease diagnostic assays.
• Designing qPCR primers probes for alternative isothermal amplification methods such as LAMP RPA etc.
• Helping in wet lab assay development from bench performance to integration onto the diagnostic platform.
• Working on technology development – troubleshooting and data analysis with respect to assay development.
• Presenting ideas and work progression to the wider team.

To be Considered for the Assay Development Scientist role, you’ll need the following skills and experience;

• A Ph.D. or Masters Degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology or a related subject.
• Proven, working experience in qPCR assay development, including primer design and probe design.
• Self-motivation, good problem-solving skills, and a desire to work within a novel R&D environment.
• Good Communication skills, with the ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams.
