We have an exciting vacancy for an experienced HSSE Specialist at a world-class specialist chemicals company, on a 6-month Fixed Term Contract. The role will involve coordinating and responding to HSE incidents, including incident management and investigation, trend analysis, and ensuring compliance with RIDDOR and OSHA.

Key responsibilities and duties:

  • Acting as first response to incidents to maximise learning
  • Updating the HSE events, incident database and tracking/analysing trends and follow-ups to incident reporting
  • Support action development and prioritisation
  • Maintain an Incident Action tracking system
  • Review draft investigation reports and actions prior to approval
  • Monitor, train and coach Investigators
  • Conduct Incident awareness and investigation training
  • Identify improvements and update work practices/procedures and ensure compliance with regulations

Ideal skills and qualifications:

  • BSc in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
  • NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent Health and Safety Qualification
  • Practical experience of carrying out Health and Safety in a laboratory and/or workshop focused environment
  • Knowledge of Regulatory Requirements (RIDDOR, OSHA)
  • Experience of data analysis and report creation
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to clearly demonstrate and convey concepts to large and small audiences
