Microbiology Technical Officer (Days and Shifts)

Microbiologist? Looking for a new role with a leading pharmaceutical company?
You will be part of a team responsible for microbial analysis of the process and materials associated with pharmaceutical manufacturing. The position involves microbial analysis of raw materials, components, intermediates and final products as well as environmental monitoring of the site. Will be responsible for the maintenance, culture, speciation and enumeration of microorganisms, and will also support the regulatory area, QA audits and inspections (MCA/FDA). Preference for a graduate in microbiology, with experience in isolation and speciation techniques. Good aseptic techniques are required. Also, GLP knowledge and an understanding of pathogenicity and ecology of microorganisms would be useful. Physical monitoring of areas Aseptic techniques Working to GMP.
·To carry out a range of microbiological testing using a number of techniques according to set priorities and schedules.
·To ensure that all work is carried out according to standard methods and procedures.
·To maintain standards of GLP and GMP consistent with regulatory expectation.
·To carry out recording, verification and reporting of laboratory work within established procedures.
·To take part in appropriate training and development of self and others as defined and agreed with line managers.
·To contribute expertise and knowledge to the review and update of documentation, methods and procedures.
·To be fully aware of, and apply the required standards of safety practices, for example Microbiological Safety Precautions, Emergency Procedures, Fire Instructions, COSHH.
·To support and take an active part in Operational Excellence initiatives and objectives within the laboratory area which realise business benefits.
·To carry out non-routine, investigative or other support work as directed.
