Process and Development Chemist

A large-scale pharmaceutical client is seeking a Process and Development Chemist to join their multi-disciplinary team in Angus, Scotland in the large-scale synthesis of organic products.
This lab-based role is fast paced and highly varied, involving the development and implementation of new synthetic processes at a pharmaceutical manufacturing site.
Key responsibilities include:
- Synthesising new organic compounds in a GMP setting
- Using a strong background in Chemistry to develop synthetic chemistry technologies
- Using a drive to diagnose issues to troubleshoot during the manufacturing processing using root cause analysis (RCA)
- Working as part of a wider team including analytical scientists to ensure the business operates at the highest level
The ideal Process and Development Chemist candidate is a Chemistry graduate at BSc or postgraduate level with excellent experience with organic chemistry and process chemistry. You will be forward thinking and highly motivated, with the capability to work independently on time pressured projects. You will have some understanding of GMP requirements and are familiar with the concept of bulk API manufacturing.
