A novel opportunity has arisen for an individual keen to pursue a career with production development. The company are based in York and seek to hire an individual aligned with their vision and with a passion for improving people’s lives!

As a production development scientist, you will be experienced in technology/design transfer, the reading of regulatory documents, contributing to the development of regulatory documents and ISO13485 and medical device manufacturing. By working within a multidisciplinary team and utilising their experience and knowledge you will then contribute toward the development of new products and their timely delivery by implementing or improving manufacturing techniques in-line with Quality Controlled measures. You must also be willing to travel to other company sites.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Combine practical experience, creative thinking, and continuous improvement methods, to implement and improve novel and established manufacturing techniques to ensure products are delivered on time and in accordance to specified requirements.
  • Execute work supporting process understanding from optimising existing methods to evaluating and optimising alternative methods, to defining critical process indicators and implementing quality controls, to continuous improvement and the introduction of novel techniques to further process understanding and effectiveness.
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team, including quality control and the manufacturing function, contributing to the development of production processes for routine manufacture.
  • Be adaptable whilst responsible for delivering operational and/or technical tasks and processes across a range of core operational activities across the product lifecycle.
  • Trouble shooting and resolving technical issues with new product transfers to maintain project timelines.

You will have:

  • Continually seek to develop yourself by attending courses, meetings and training events which will also mutually benefit their contribution to the company.
  • Exemplary self-motivation skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team to maintain good working relationships.
  • Ability to communicate appropriate and concise information, with a competency in using software responsible for the storing and presenting of necessary information. Also able to report any information necessary to the manager in a professional manner.
