My client are a centre of excellence for ion channel pharmacology, attracting scientist around the world to work on a range of preclinical and clinical research, covering various therapeutic targets. Due to a continued departmental growth, an exciting opportunity is now available for a Senior Scientist in ion channel electrophysiology to join their site in Cambridge.

As a Senior Scientist you will plan, execute and deliver drug discovery projects on ion channel ligands, within the planned timeline and budget. You will be responsible for creation of study protocols, mentoring junior lab staff, providing technical expertise and recommendations for future studies.

Key requirements for the Senior Scientist – Ion Channel Electrophysiology

• A PhD in Pharmacology, Neuroscience or a related subject with significant experience in drug discovery, ideally in ion channel biology and electrophysiology
• Experience in developing, optimising and executing plate-based assays in a wide range of ion channels
• Experience in either manual or automated patch-clamp techniques
• Experience in leading scientific teams, developing and implementing research plans
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
