Senior Scientist - Molecular Biology
Biotechnology Chemical Life Sciences Pharmaceuticals
A pharmaceutical client based in Hertfordshire is seeking an experienced scientist with a background in molecular biology to join an active research group seeking to identify structures for novel antibody products.
You will be working alongside a team of scientists from across the globe on new and ongoing projects, using in silico algorithms to identify and design sequences to optimise protein stability and reduce immunogenicity. Using a strong background in molecular biology and a knowledge of antibody structure, you will design constructs to improve the molecular properties of antibodies. This work at global pharmaceutical giant will put you at the forefront of Antibody design and discovery, working closely with other teams in the pre-clinical space.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Use of restriction enzymes to generate targeted sequences, with PCR for amplification
- Generation of a plasmid vector for molecular cloning
- Characterising attributes of antibody products during discovery
- Using molecular tools to optimise the efficacy of discovered antibodies
The ideal candidate holds a BSc/MSc/PhD in molecular biology or related discipline and has 2+ years of experience working independently in a research laboratory environment.
