A pharmaceutical client based in Hertfordshire is seeking an experienced scientist with a background in molecular biology to join their industry leading Immunology research centre for a 12 month contract.
You will be working alongside a team of scientists from across the globe on new and ongoing projects, focused on identifying novel drug targets for immunological conditions. Using techniques such as CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing, you will delete or introduce regions of genes and use tools such as Sanger Sequencing to examine the effects. This work at global pharmaceutical giant will put you at the forefront of drug design and discovery, working closely with other teams in the pre-clinical space.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Utilise CRISPR in primary human cell lines to evaluate novel targets
- Troubleshoot issues with CRISPR, optimising the process
- Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce documentation in line with timelines
- Utilise molecular biology techniques including but not limited to: flow cytometry, DNA extraction, PCR, rt-PCR, primer design
The ideal candidate holds a BSc, MSc or PhD in molecular biology or related discipline and has excellent experience in the primary human cell culture assays. You will have strong experience in CRISPR and the ability to work independently or in a team.
